AUGMENTED SHOWROOM: insights and inspiration for AR in marketing & sales

  • Thomas More Mechelen - Campus De Ham 21 bis Raghenoplein Mechelen, Vlaams Gewest, 2800 Belgium (map)

On Thursday December 1st 2022, Thomas More will show the final conclusions of the two-year research project. No traditional presentations to be expected this time. Instead, you’re invited into an AR Showroom, so you get the chance to "try before you buy".

"With augmented reality (AR), you create a unique and personalised shopping experience." "AR increases your customer engagement." "Thanks to AR, you show your product anywhere." "Use AR to optimise your showroom."

Trend reports, blogs and product demos indicate that augmented reality for retail is gaining momentum fast. But is it really a good way to enhance your marketing and sales activities? And how should you tackle it? The research project 'Augmented Customer Involvement' looked into the potential of AR, for and with Flemish companies and sector organisations. Consumers and employees were surveyed, tailor-made applications were tested in practice, and some recent low-cost/code tools were put to the test.

Guided by AR, you will be able to discover the main insights for the following building blocks of an AR project:
-       strategy
-       technology
-       content/execution
-       evaluation
-       implementation

The programme allows you to select and only look into the building blocks that are relevant to you.

Or do you prefer some more action? In the showroom, you can also get started with some AR tools: experience tested applications, try out some tools to create your own 3D and AR content, or take a look at the demo stands of local AR developers.

Tailor the event and AR experiences to your own needs.

Do you work in an SME (with one or more physical retail outlets or sales channels)? Is your mission to optimise the customer experience in the sales process and marketing activities? Then sign up to see what AR can do for your SME.

Programme

12:30 - 13:30: optional lunch
13:30: welcome and opening showroom
13:45 - 16:00: continuous knowledge sharing: showroom & networking

This session is an initiative of the TETRA project 'Augmented Customer Involvement'. This project is carried out by the research team 'Sustainable Entrepreneurship and Digital Innovation' at Thomas More. It is supported by the Flemish Agency for Innovation and Entrepreneurship.
